Today's lesson will be about the word HELPFUL
-
What are some ways you can be helpful to your parents? To your teacher? To your friends?
-
Can you remember a time when someone was helpful to you?
Who was Philip?
There are many different Philip's in the bible. This Philip was a servant that was chosen to take care of the widows. He had a good reputation; he was wise, faithful, and full of the Holy Spirit. He was very obedient to God and loved to preach the word of God.
Acts 8:26-40
What an amazing story, God told Philip to go down the road where he found a man from another country. The Ethiopian could not understand the scriptures. He needed help. By obeying God’s instructions, Philip was placed there to help the Ethiopian understand and obey God’s word. Sharing the good news of Jesus is something we should all want to do. As we see in the story, being helpful means we should act in obedience, teach others about Christ, and show Christ's love. Helpfulness is a key characteristic that Jesus showed, his disciples showed, and we are expected to do the same. Just think about it this way, God gave us all hands: hands for helping!
